Problem: FX wanted to show off multiple IPs at one of the most crowded fan experiences in the world — San Diego Comic Con.

The challenge was two-fold: 

First, how to house so many different and beloved IPs in a single, cohesive, massive footprint.

Second, how to stand out in an environment where every popular IP is pulling out all the stops to reach

Working with Creative Riff, we came up with the Garden of Unearthly Delights, a vast, 10ft tall hedge maze full of nooks, crannies, hidden easter eggs, cast appearances, live performers and larger-than-life IP touchpoints. We turned a bare field into a living garden with zones for American Horror Stories, Mayans, What We Do in the Shadows and Little Demon. By utilizing a maze structure we created a continuous flow that organically transitions between IPs — essential for passthrough when lines extend around the block. Widely hailed as one of the must-sees of SDCC 2022, this fan experience is one that we are eminently proud of.
